Contact: Daphne Hart, (714) 481-5375 SANTA ANA, Calif. – When a disaster strikes, the American Red Cross is there to assist the community. And following November’s fires, Wells Fargo and its customers were there to assist the American Red Cross. On Nov. 17, Wells Fargo began offering their customers the option of making a donation to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund during all of their ATM transactions in Orange County and the surrounding areas. Since then, more than $53,000 has been raised. "We're thrilled how our customers have generously contributed to help those who have lost so much during this holiday season," said Wells Fargo region president Nam Hoang. "I hope these donations will let these families know that they're not alone but supported by a large and caring community." But Wells Fargo’s support was not limited to its customers; the company made an additional $225,000 donation to the Disaster Relief Fund, with $50,000 designated to the American Red Cross to help fire relief in Orange County. “Our core mission is to assist those affected by disasters, but we cannot do it alone,” said Stanley Perdue, the chief executive officer of the American Red Cross of Orange County. “For the second year in a row, Wells Fargo has shown their compassion for our community and we are grateful for their partnership.” |
