Accelerated CPR and First Aid Courses Were Taught in English, Spanish and Vietnamese Contact: Bridget Kelly, (714) 481-5376 SANTA ANA, Calif. – The American Red Cross of Orange County hosted its sixth annual Super CPR Day event on April 17 inside the Exhibition Center at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. As one of the nation’s largest CPR and first aid training events, classes were provided in English, Spanish and Vietnamese. Participants also received an orientation on Automated External Defibrillators (AED) during their CPR training. “An important part of the American Red Cross mission is to prevent and prepare for emergencies before they occur and Super CPR Day is one way we help the community do that,” said Debbie Graves, health & safety director for the American Red Cross. “This was our largest turnout ever and it wouldn’t have been possible without our 200 volunteers and committed instructors.” More than 30 community organizations exhibited their services and products. Emergency preparedness kits and supplies were available for purchasing and the American Red Cross also demonstrated pet CPR and first aid skills. The event was a partnership between the American Red Cross, the Orange County Health Care Agency and Angel Stadium and was proudly sponsored by Wells Fargo Bank, CARE Ambulance, Westbound Communications, Lee’s Sandwiches, Noah’s Bagels, Starbucks and Mimi’s Cafe.
